Such a cool experience! We booked it last minute to fill up an afternoon after visiting the Oak Alley Plantation and we are so grateful that we did. We were extremely lucky to have Eric as our tour guide – he was awesome and we would highly recommend getting on his boat (Swamp Daddy). Eric was the last airboat to leave but I think it was almost better this way because we got to see so many gators and Eric was feeding them chicken – he even petted one that was sunbathing in the swamp! After viewing gators, Eric raced us through the swamplands until we came to a clearing and saw bald eagles. So cool! Eric and his buddy who was also around us had such great chemistry together and at one point we sort of docked next to each other and they brought out a baby gator for us to hold. So awesome. Not only was this a great time but also informative as Eric clearly has a love for the gators in this wonderful space and spoke with us about the rehabilitation efforts when the gators were on the brink of extinction. This is one of our top two experiences during our stay and highly recommend it for everyone.
