My favorite experience during our trip to New Orleans! I’d been on an airboat tour in Miami before, so this wasn’t my first time. Going in April made the weather perfect! Needed some sunscreen for the UV rays, but otherwise wasn’t too hot or sweaty. We also had bug spray because it was recommended, but honestly not needed at all. It might’ve been unpleasant during the hot summer months, because you are sitting shoulder to shoulder with people on the airboat. The “large airboat tour” is the best deal in my opinion. It’s the cheapest option and honestly still isn’t very big, making it still easy to view the gators in the water. I recommend having a camera ready at all times, because you don’t know when you’ll spot a gator! They have times during the tour when the boat is anchored so you can view the gators while the tour guide feeds them and tells you their names, and also times where you speed really fast through the water like on a speed boat! The airboat does get loud, but they provide earmuffs that work perfectly for muting the sound. Overall great experience! My friend who was initially afraid to go even had a really great time! Good for couples and families.
