May weather in New Orleans Swamps as depicted by AI

In May, New Orleans undergoes a warm and humid weather transition into summer. The city typically experiences daytime highs ranging from the mid-80s to low 90s Fahrenheit (around 29-34 degrees Celsius). Nighttime lows are in the 60s to low 70s Fahrenheit (around 16-23 degrees Celsius).

New Orleans counts May as one of its most humid months, signaling the start of the rainy season. The likelihood of rain and occasional thunderstorms increases, making it wise to carry an umbrella or raincoat and prepare for sudden downpours.

Despite the heightened humidity and potential for rain, May attracts many visitors to New Orleans because of its numerous festivals and events. The city buzzes with activity, featuring outdoor concerts, food festivals, and cultural celebrations. Visitors should dress for the warm and humid weather, ensure they stay hydrated, and monitor the weather forecast for any rain showers during their stay.

Ragin Cajun's Take on May weather in New Orleans

May is the month we transition from the short spring warm season into the extended summer we enjoy in New Orleans. While a cooler day is possible, it is rarely anything but warm during May. Even night time temperatures are mild.

Overall, May is a great time to visit the city of New Orleans and experience the thrills of an airboat tour.

Customer Review of an Airboat Tour in May

Jessica Mayorga had this to say on her Google review:

“My husband and I and 4 of our kids, along with my stepmother, took this tour today on our short stop over I. New Orleans. We had an absolute blast! This was by far the highlight of our visit. Our captain was AMAZING! He interacted with not only us adults, but with our kids (which is a big thing for me). We will DEFINITELY do this again if we come back through the area. We saw several alligators and our awesome captain brought one on board, then surprised us with a BABY ALLIGATOR that we got to hold!! Thank you Ragin Cajun for this awesome experience, and a special thank you to our AMAZING captain for making this a memorable trip!”
